The Rotary Trail is an integral part of the annual Summit Run. The Summit Run has utilized this picturesque trail since its inception, allowing participants to enjoy spring running alongside the North Saskatchewan River. Explore the routes for each event on the course maps below.
The start/finish line is on River Street East and 13th avenue. The route will join onto the Rotary Trail and head west, where the course marshals will indicate the turnaround points. It is an out-and-back course for the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km route.
The half marathon route will start on River Street East and 13th avenue heading east. After heading east from the start line the route will take a right onto 15th avenue for half a block and then left onto 1st street east. The route will continue heading east on 1st street and a course marshal will advise the runners to join onto the rotary trail heading south. Runners will stay on the Rotary Trail until a course marshal indicates the turnaround point in Crescent Acres. The runners will then retrace their steps towards the start line. Once the runners have reached 15th avenue, they will head onto the river bank going west on the Rotary Trail until a course marshal indicates the turnaround point. The runners will then retrace their route back to the start/finish line.
There will be water stations approximately every 3 km which include the following: water, sports drinks, and portapotties.
The half marathon relay route is the same route as the half marathon route, with the exchange area for the team members at the 7 km marker and the 14 km marker.
